Oliver Grundmann, Ph.D., MEd, M.S., B.Pharm.

Oliver Grundmann received a bachelor’s degree in pharmacy and European pharmacist license from the University of Münster, Germany, before beginning his graduate studies at the University of Florida. While continuing his Ph.D. in Pharmaceutical Sciences, he worked for the Forensic Science program after graduating with a Master’s degree in Forensic Toxicology and minor in Statistics. His research interests include the search for new treatment options from natural products for Central Nervous System and Gastrointestinal diseases such as anxiety and depressive disorders as well as irritable bowel syndrome and cancers of the gastrointestinal tract. Since 2016 a major collaborative research focus has been on Kratom (Mitragyna speciosa), its pharmacology and therapeutic potential as well as patterns of use. Dr. Grundmann also is interested in the implementation and impact of national and international collaborations for curricular development in the health sciences with an emphasis on distance and online education.

Nadaia Awaad,Pharm.D., M.S., BCPS, BCPPS, FAACT

Dr. Nadia Awad is an emergency medicine and pediatric pharmacist at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ. After earning her Doctor of Pharmacy from the Ernest Mario School of Pharmacy at Rutgers University, she completed two years of post-graduate residency training at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, specializing in emergency medicine pharmacy. She subsequently earned her Master of Science in Clinical Toxicology from the University of Florida. She is dual board-certified in pharmacotherapy and pediatric pharmacy. Dr. Awad has authored over 30 peer-reviewed journal articles and research abstracts, and she has been featured on various blogs and podcasts related to emergency medicine. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Clinical Toxicology. Her clinical interests include emergency medicine and pediatric pharmacotherapy as well as clinical toxicology.

Nadia Awaad

Acute Care Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor

Jeremy Lund, Pharm.D., M.S., DABAT, BCEMP, FFSHP

Jeremy Lund is the Acute Care Clinical Pharmacy Supervisor at Moffitt Cancer Center in Tampa. He also serves as a Clinical Toxicologist at the Florida Poison Information Center – Tampa. Jeremy received his Doctor of Pharmacy and a Master of Science in Clinical Toxicology from the University of Florida College of Pharmacy. He previously founded and managed an inpatient Toxicology Service at Sarasota Memorial Hospital. Within the Florida Society of Health-System Pharmacists (FSHP), he founded the Emergency Medicine/Critical Care Clinical Forum in 2022 and was named the FSHP Pharmacist of the Year for 2024.

Jeremy Lund

Associate Professor of Medicine, a board-certified nephrologist, and clinical toxicologist

Marc Ghannoum, MD, M.S., CMQ, FRCP

Mar Ghannoum is an Associate Professor of Medicine, a board-certified nephrologist, and clinical toxicologist. He began his distinguished career in internal medicine and nephrology, receiving certifications in 2000 and 2002, respectively, from the University of Montreal. Since 2002, Dr. Ghannoum has worked as a nephrologist at Verdun Hospital, which is affiliated with the University of Montreal. In 2023, he expanded his expertise internationally by taking on a role as a clinical toxicologist at the Dutch Poison Information Center in Utrecht, Netherlands. As a co-founder of the EXTRIP workgroup, an international consortium dedicated to advancing the use of extracorporeal treatments for poisoning, Dr. Ghannoum has made significant contributions to the field through systematic reviews and clinical guidelines. His scholarly output includes over 100 publications and 10 book chapters, showcasing his deep commitment to advancing medical knowledge and improving patient care.
