How can I apply to UF?
Applications can be submitted via our How to Apply page.
Are there specific admissions requirements for international students?
Yes. International students may apply to any of our master’s, certificate, or non-degree programs. Check the minimum requirements section for your program of interest:
Is there an application fee?
Yes. There is a non-refundable $30 application fee. This fee cannot be waived for international applicants.
Do I need a student visa?
No. All coursework is fully online, so you do not need a U.S. student visa.
Can I get an F-1 visa?
No. Students in online graduate programs are not eligible for an F-1 visa.
How can I check my application status?
After you apply, you’ll receive a unique eight-digit UFID number. Use this along with your temporary login to track your application status. You’ll receive your admission decision by email.
How do I confirm my application arrived?
Use your login credentials to view your submission status in the online system.
How do I know if I qualify as an international applicant?
You are considered an international applicant if either of the following apply:
- You live in a country other than the U.S.
- You earned any degree outside the U.S.
Do international students have scholarship options?
Unfortunately, the university does not offer scholarships specifically for international students. We recommend exploring external scholarships.
Are TOEFL scores required? How long are they valid?
TOEFL scores are valid for two years. For detailed information, visit the official TOEFL website. You may also use promo code UFTOEFL15 for a 15% discount.
Do I need to have my transcripts evaluated?
Yes. Submit official, original documents—including transcripts and diploma/degree certificates—from each institution attended. If your documents are not in English, include certified literal translations from an approved organization (e.g., AES, ECE, JSIL, NACES).
Where should I mail my documents?
Gather your transcript or mark sheet, diploma or degree certificate and English translations (if required). Send them together in one package to the address below. If you would like your transcript/mark sheet and diploma/degree certificate returned to you, you must provide a return shipping label and return packaging in the package that you send.
